Our Church Family: Continue to pray for Leslie-Anne Groenewegen in hospice in Picton. Visitors are limited to family members. Devin Webb (infant son of Nathan & Amanda) was transferred to Ottawa hospital this past Wednesday with breathing problems. Condolences to Curtis & Terri Kirkey and family on the passing of Terri’s mother this past Tuesday. Congratulations to Eve Kugel as she celebrates her 84th birthday on Monday. Dave & Evita Botting will be on holidays until Sept. 3. Valerie Peters will be on holidays  until Aug. 23. Shelley Schamehorn will be on holidays until Aug. 20.

This Morning we celebrate the Sacrament of Holy Communion. All who have publicly confessed the Lord Jesus Christ and are seeking to live out that commitment in repentance and faith are warmly invited to join in our celebration.

Rides Needed: Egbert Couperus will be starting a month’s worth of radiation treatments in Kingston in a couple of weeks. Anyone able to help with the driving would be greatly appreciated. Please contact Rennie VanderWal if you are able to help.

Prayer Night: We will not be meeting for prayer on the last Wednesday of August, but will continue again in September.

Retirement: A number of events are being planned to celebrate Pastor John and Michelle as he retires the end of November this year. Set aside the last weekend of November – a program is planned for Saturday night, Nov. 25 (for adults) and a special worship service for Sunday morning, Nov. 26 (for everyone, including children).

Griefshare is a support ministry for those challenged with the death of a loved one. Excellent videos featuring experienced grief counsellors and people sharing experiences of their grief journey. There is a $20 charge for the workbook that goes with the video series. The next session begins on Sept. 6 at 10am here at Maranatha.
