Our Church Family: Continue to pray for Leslie-Anne Groenewegen in hospice in Picton. Visitors are limited to family members. Andy Jongenotter remains in Trenton Hospital and will be there for another week. Devin Webb, son of Nathan & Amanda was released from Ottawa Hospital on Wednesday night. Odette Oliver goes in for surgery tomorrow in Toronto to remove blood clot scars on her lungs. Dave & Evita Botting will be on holidays until Sept. 3. Valerie Peters will be on holidays  until Aug. 23.

Rides Needed: Egbert Couperus will be starting a month’s worth of radiation treatments in Kingston in a couple of weeks. Anyone able to help with the driving would be greatly appreciated. Please contact Rennie VanderWal if you are able to help.

Prayer Night: We will not be meeting for prayer on the last Wednesday of August, but will continue again in September.

Retirement: A number of events are being planned to celebrate Pastor John and Michelle as he retires the end of November this year. Set aside the last weekend of November – a program is planned for Saturday night, Nov. 25 (for adults) and a special worship service for Sunday morning, Nov. 26 (for everyone, including children).

GriefShare is a support ministry for those challenged with the death of a loved one. Excellent videos featuring experienced grief counsellors and people sharing experiences of their grief journey. There is a $20 charge for the workbook that goes with the video series. The next session begins on Sept. 6 at 10am here at Maranatha. Pioneer Club will be ministering to children, JK – grade 6, again this year, starting Wednesday, Sept. 20. Club will run from 6–7:30pm each Wednesday night. We are looking for adults and teens to serve on this ministry team. This ministry provides a great opportunity for teens to receive community service hours. If you are interested in being on this team, and have attended Maranatha for at least 6 months, please contact Linda Wattam, 613-848-7083.
