Our Church Family: Condolences to Scott & Lindsay Trafford on the passing of Scott’s Oma, Alie Holleman who passed away last Monday. Congratulations to John & Sandra Vanberkel as they celebrate their 52nd Anniversary tomorrow and also to Steven & Debra Twiss as they celebrate their 35th Anniversary tomorrow as well. Congratulations also to Katie Rutledge as she celebrates her 80th birthday on Friday. Mike Mathewson is on holidays until Sept. 12.

Tonight’s Worship Service will feature a special mission presentation by Michael and Marianne Botting on their work in northern Uganda with Emmanuel International. It will be an informal evening of worship, a presentation by Michael and Marianne and refreshments around tables with opportunity for questions and discussion. Plan to come out tonight at 7pm!

Next Sunday Evening we hope to celebrate together the Lord’s Supper. Let us prepare our hearts accordingly.

Thank You: Thanks for the prayers, cards and constant thoughts for me leading up to my surgery, during surgery and now my recovery. It is absolutely amazing to belong to such a loving, caring community. I am blessed to be home and recovering. Thanks again for all your love! Odette Oliver

Maranatha Seniors: Our first meeting of the season will be  a potluck on Thursday, Sept. 14 at 12 noon. Bring your favourite dish, hot or cold, your own dishes and cutlery. We will play games so bring your favourite board game. Any questions, talk to Grace Doornbos. Our October bus trip will be on Thursday, Oct 5 to Rockport where we will go on a boat dinner cruise. The cost will be $55/person. There are a few spots left, if you are 65 or older and would like to go, call Greta Heuving at 613-395-2314.

Youth Fundraiser: On Saturday, Sept. 23, the youth will be holding a car wash in the parking lot here to raise funds for their year-end trip to Circle Square Ranch. See the insert in the bulletin for more details.

Pioneer Club will be ministering to children, JK – Grade 6, again this year, starting Wednesday, Sept. 20. Club will run from 6–7:30pm each Wednesday night. We are looking for adults and teens to serve on this ministry team. This ministry provides a great opportunity for teens to receive community service hours. If you are interested and have attended Maranatha for at least 6 months, please contact Linda Wattam, 613-848-7083.

Walking Group will start up again on Tuesday, Sept. 19 at 10am in the Youth Hall and will run on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Any one interested in walking to a video is welcome to join. For more information, talk to Fran Dunford.

Sponsor Children for Pioneer Club: Some families find it difficult to pay the $50 registration fee for their child to attend Pioneer Club. Would you consider giving a donation towards the fees that could be offered to these families? Please make the cheques out to Maranatha Church and on the memo line put Pioneer Club and place them in the offering plate or take them to the Pioneer Club table in the foyer.

Prayer Night: We have been praying together for Maranatha on the last Wednesday of the month. Next meeting is planned for Wednesday, Sept. 27 at 7:30pm in the Youth Hall.

Focus on The Family Film: The movie, “Mully”, the inspiring true story of Charles Mully will be shown in Kingston at Cineplex Odeon Theatres on Gardiners Road on Oct. 4 & 12. Please see the poster on the board outside the office.

Promise Keepers is holding a national men’s conference at the Queensway in Toronto on Friday, Nov. 17 and Saturday, Nov. 18. Felix Boer & Darrel Brown are organizing a group of men for the Saturday session. Special guest will be 4-time World Series Champion Darryl Strawberry.
