This Morning: We welcome Pastor Henry Wildeboer preaching this morning. He has been serving as a consultant to staff and council in this transition time between Pastor John’s retirement and seeking a new senior pastor. Council will also be commissioning Dave Botting this morning as Interim Lead Pastor as he provides leadership to staff and works with council to provide vision and direction during the transition period.
Next Sunday Evening we hope to celebrate together the Lord’s Supper. Let us prepare our hearts accordingly.
Maranatha Seniors: Happy New Year! Our first meeting of the year will be held on Thursday, Jan. 11 at 1:30pm in the Chapel to start with a hymn sing, poetry reading and storytelling. Then to the fellowship Hall for coffee and goodies. We will then have our business meeting and some Bible and Canada trivia. We are always looking for more seniors to join us, so we are inviting you to come and check us out.
Choose Your Noodle & Dessert Auction will be held on Friday, Jan. 19 starting at 6pm. This is a fundraiser for the Youth for their year-end trip to Circle Square Ranch. Tickets are available after the service in the foyer. Tickets are $5/person or $25/family. For more information see the insert in the bulletin.

Dinner Theatre: On Saturday, Feb. 10, Maranatha Marriage Ministry will be hosting a dinner theater and presenting the captivating musical “Moses”, filmed before a live audience at the world renowned Sight & Sound Theatre. Tickets are $20 each and will be available after the service, or at the church office during the week. All adults are welcome.
Directory: We are planning to publish a new directory for the new year. Pages for the directory are on the tables outside the main office. Please check your information and make any necessary changes. If you have an email address please provide it as well. Griefshare: If you or someone you know is grieving the death of a love one there is caring support available through GriefShare. Starting Thursday Jan. 11 from 7-9 pm GriefShare will again be running its 13-session support group. Excellent videos featuring experienced grief counsellors and people sharing experiences of their grief journey help us to learn that grieving is normal, but is different for everyone and provide input on how to handle grief in a healthy way. Caring and experienced facilitators are there to encourage and support during group discussions, and a workbook to be used at home helps us draw near to God as we look at the different aspects of our grief journey.
