Our Church Family: Congratulations to Erika Palen as she celebrates her 82nd birthday on Monday, also to Erna Fricke as she celebrates her 90th birthday on Thursday and to Dineke Van Roon as she celebrates her 88th birthday on Saturday. Congratulations to John & Michelle Visser as they celebrate their 51st Anniversary on Saturday. Lucy Steiginga’s continues to recover after her surgery. Please remember Lucy Steiginga, Glen Arendt, Marten VanderWal, Eve Kugel, Andy Jongenotter, and Rick Foulds in your prayers and our shut ins.

Offerings: Each week we hold an offering for a cause and for budget. This week the offering is for Benevolence Fund, next Sunday, September 4 the offering will be for World Renew.

Officebearers: Today we will ordain to office, two new elders—Arend Wiarda and Jim Wannamaker—and one new deacon—Robyn Buikema. We thank God for providing these willing, capable, and godly people.  We are grateful for the service of outgoing Elders Steven Twiss and Jake Bulten and Deacon Christy Geertsma. Steven steps down as chair after four years on Council. All three served with devotion as they negotiated the many challenges the last several years have brought.

Next Sunday Morning we hope to celebrate the Lord’s Supper together. Let us prepare our hearts accordingly.

Kick-Off Sunday: Sunday, Sept. 11 will be the launch of our new ministry season as well as the installation service for Pastor Mike Nanninga. Please join us for this celebration and sign up for the lunch following the service (please see insert for details). Everyone is welcome!

Profession of Faith: We look forward to hearing Sarah Prins’ Profession of faith next Sunday morning, Sept. 4. We praise the Lord that Sarah wants to take this faith step!

Thank You: I wish to express my sincere thanks to the church community for all the prayers, cards and words of sympathy and comfort to our family in the passing of Pieter. We were truly covered in the lord’s strength, peace and love through your prayers. Also want to thank the meal train ministry and all those who labored in their kitchens for us and whose who donated gift cards. It so carried us through as we were mentally and physically drained. Welcome Party: Please join us at a welcome party for Chris Rajasekar’s family, Jansi and their 4 kids, Steve, Zack, Cathy & Cassey. After 11 months of separation, Jansi and the 4 kids made the 18 hour journey from India to join Chris here in Belleville. This will be graciously hosted at Wendon & Linda Wattam’s(584 Belleville Road, Deseronto) this afternoon from 1–3pm, weather permitting. Feel free to bring your swimsuits and towels if you wish.

Tech, Prayer and Worship Team Meeting: Thursday, Sept. 1 at 7pm we will be meeting to re-connect, share vision and launch our new ministry season. Come prepared to listen, give input and spend some time in prayer together. We want to intentionally seek what the Lord has for our community, and how to best serve Him in all aspects of our worship.

Summer Connections: Thank you to all who joined us for the various connection opportunities this summer and those who helped lead them. We look forward to the upcoming ministry season to further connect with God and one another as we study, pray, and serve together!

Navigating Everything Parenting Seminar will be held here at Maranatha on Friday, Sept. 9 at 7pm. We will have Brett Ullman as our guest speaker. Memorial Service: There will be a service held for Tom Collyer on Saturday, Sept. 10 at 11 am at Belleville Cemetery, (631 Dundas St., W). All are welcome to join for the service.

Coffee Teams: Your assistance is greatly appreciated and required by our coffee team! If you have the gift of serving, and are able to help us out with the coffee ministry team, please let us know. We are hoping to have an 8 week rotation, but it will depend on how many persons would offer their services, for setting up the morning coffee, clean up and dishwasher services, as well as serve the coffee. We would love it if you would also be able to bake for the church community, once in a while. Ann Jansen, or Judy Edgar would love to hear from you. Contacting the front office would also be an option.

GriefShare: Grieving the death of a loved one can be a very daunting and painful experience. GriefShare can offer support. The 13-session program consists of videos featuring experienced grief counsellors and people sharing their grief journeys, a workbook and time for discussion and sharing. We will be running two groups a week on Monday morings and Thursday evenings. The Monday group wil start Sept. 12 from 10-12 noon. The Thursday group will start Sept. 15 from 7-9 pm. If we don't have enough registrations for Thursday evening, we will move the group to Thursday morning, 9-12 noon, with the same Sept. 15 start date. Space is limited. GriefShare Facilitators Urgently Needed: We need male and female facilitators for our sessions starting in September, in particular for the Thursday evening group. We are looking for people who have experienced the loss of a loved one and have come to a place of healing and have a desire to help others navigate the grief journey. Training videos are available and new facilitators will work with more experienced facilitators. GriefShare is not only for our congregation, but is an outreach to the broader community. Thrift Store: All green stickers/tags are $1 each this week. We are  clearing out summer to make room for winter clothing, come stock up on summer wear before they are gone. We will start putting winter stuff out, we are in need of good quality winter wear for children and adults. Christmas decorating is around the corner, if you have items you are not going to use we would love to take them especially artificial trees. For more information call the store 613-967-1371.

Annual QCHS Eagle Run/Walk: We are so excited to invite you to participate in the family fun Eagle Run/walk on Saturday, Sept. 17. There is a 2k fun run/walk as well as 5k and 10k runs. The event will be run in the Quinte Conservation Area across from the school. The cost is a $20 for participants, $10 for children 12 and under, or $60 per family (parents and children under 18). Registration begins at 7:30am, with the races starting at 8am. All participants will receive a T-shirt commemorating the event. To ensure a shirt that will fit, please respond by e-mail to by Sept. 12 with your name(s) and size(s) of shirt. Shirts come in adult and youth sizes. Registration is available on the day of the event.

QCHS Back to School Breakfast: Saturday, Sept. 17, beginning at 8:15am following the Eagle Run, is the back to school breakfast. The breakfast is for all of the community to come together for a time of fellowship at the beginning of the school year. So why not begin your day with a walk/run in the park, enjoy God’s creation and then enjoy the company of family and friends at the breakfast? Everyone is welcome to come to the breakfast even if you don’t go on the Eagle Run. The breakfast is FREE!
