Thank You: I wish to express my sincere thanks to the church community for all the prayers, cards and words of sympathy and comfort to our family in the passing of Pieter. We were truly covered in the lord’s strength, peace and love through your prayers. Also want to thank the meal train ministry and all those who labored in their kitchens for us and whose who donated gift cards. It so carried us through as we were mentally and physically drained. God richly bless you all and thank you! Anne Englesman and family.

Thank You: We wish to thank the congregation for their prayers, cards  and words of sympathy and comfort during our time of loss. Koopmans & Bulten families.

We are hoping to have an 8 week rotation, but it will depend on how many persons would offer their services, for setting up the morning coffee, clean up and dishwasher services, as well as serve the coffee. We would love it if you would also be able to bake for the church community, once in a while. Ann Jansen, or Judy Edgar would love to hear from you. Contacting the front office would also be an option.

GriefShare: Grieving the death of a loved one can be a very daunting and painful experience. GriefShare can offer support. The 13-session program consists of videos featuring experienced grief counsellors and people sharing their grief journeys, a workbook and time for discussion and sharing. We will be running two groups a week on Monday morings and Thursday evenings. The Monday group wil start Sept. 12 from 10-12 noon. The Thursday group will start Sept. 15 from 7-9 pm. If we don't have enough registrations for Thursday evening, we will move the group to Thursday morning, 9-12 noon, with the same Sept. 15 start date. Space is limited. For more information and to register, contact Nancy at the church office (613-962-2062 or info@maranatha-church.com) or Darrel Brown (613-922-5622 or darrel56brown@gmail.com).

GriefShare Facilitators Urgently Needed: We need male and female facilitators for our sessions starting in September, in particular for the Thursday evening group. We are looking for people who have experienced the loss of a loved one and have come to a place of healing and have a desire to help others navigate the grief journey. Training videos are available and new facilitators will work with more experienced facilitators. GriefShare is not only for our congregation, but is an outreach to the broader community. For information, call Mary Kaldeway (613-962-8220) or speak to her after worship on Sunday.
